    Description

This is an exquisite original antique print from the 1870s by Sir Edwin Landseer. It doesn't get prettier than this! It depicts a hunter and his Scottish Deerhound, who have fallen into a cave or onto a ledge during the hunt. The man hollers for help, which has arrived in the form of a rope.
It is an antique collotype (heliotype) print, which was a high quality printing technique that yielded both great detail and fine tones, and was generally reserved for high end art reproduction of the era.
The print is high quality; and the original paper is thick. The heliotype image is surrounded by a yellow/cream colored border with a white caption. This could be trimmed or covered in a frame if desired. It has its original tissue overlay.
PLEASE NOTE: There are stains in the white margin area of this print. It could be trimmed before framing, without affecting the picture area.
The page is approximately 10.5 x 13.5 inches, with the image area being approx. 6.5 x 8 inches.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
