After struggling with reliability in Honda's 1994 inaugural season, Honda found competitiveness in 1995 and won the IndyCar (CART) manufacturers championship in 1996. Jimmy Vasser was the 1996 Driver Champion. Honda's full line-up in 1996 included: Vasser & Zanardi with Ganassi, de Ferran with Hall, Ribeiro and Fernandez with Tasman and Johnstone with Brix-Comptech.
