his is a pine carving I finished in April 2017 of a beautiful Wood duck drake. I have looked around and I have not found any others like this for sale yet. It is hand carved by me and took two days to finish it. It would look wonderful over a doorway inside the home of a water fowl hunter or a person who enjoys seeing these displaying their beauty in nature. It is all one piece and it is relief carved, The Wood duck feathers are burnt in by hand with a woodburner. This process depicts the fine barbs of the feathers. This makes it realistic and different from most other pieces. My painting with the acrylic colors give a good field of depth and harmonizing shades that depict the fall season. Please note that this carving measurers in at 8 1/2 inches tall. One might want to measure their space above their door to make sure it fits.
